5 Top tips for new businesses
Here are a few of the many things you should consider when starting a business:
1. Get it right from the start
Ensure you have notified them that your business is trading including any other service you may need (VAT, PAYE Scheme etc). Even HMRC will send out passwords in the post so not everything is immediately accessible.
2. Insurance Insurance Insurance
Make sure you are appropriately insured for the business you are running from the first day.
3. Get a Bank Account
This is surprisingly long winded and may need an appointment at a branch.
4. Things that don’t make you money but can save you money.
At the start it can be easy to overlook getting the best deal for utilities etc but this can make a huge difference to that first year bottom line profit so don’t sign up for convenience! Also check for any business discounts you can get.
5. and most importantly…….
Get the right professionals behind you. Its likely you will have a long term relationship with your Accountant, Human Resources (HR) and other advisors so make sure they are qualified and come recommended.
